I've found that if you allow background activity for the app it fixes this issue. If the background activity is restricted or turned off the app stops working anytime the app is minimized or the phone sleeps. Allowing this to run in the background solves this issue so you can listen longer without killing the battery as fast. Hope this helps.

Hi Ace,
Reading should continue even when the screen turns off — the app is designed to keep playing in the background. So this behavior isn’t expected.
Could you send me a bit more detail, or a screenshot/screen recording of what you see when it happens? That will help me understand why it’s stopping on your device and debug the issue for your specific case.
Thanks!

I have also had this happen to me and got frustrated and stopped using the app for a while. It continues to play and then after a few mins (no longer than 5mins) it stops playing all together.

Not sure how to screen record, and there isn't really anything to see. I am using a Samsung note phone, and my screen turns off automatically in 10 minutes. It will continue reading for maybe 10-15 seconds after phone screen turns off. Then I will turn phone on and immediately begins reading again. If I leave the reading app open, it prevents my phone from turning off, but uses a lot of battery power. I usually use ear buds, but i have the same issue without them.

Hi,
This issue is quite difficult for me to fix right now because I’m unable to reproduce it on my side. I’ve tested background playback on multiple Samsung and Android devices — even in a separate test app — and it always continues reading normally after the screen turns off.
Since I can’t reproduce the behavior, I’m not yet sure what’s causing it specifically on your device.
When you have a moment, could you please try:
Testing the app on another phone, if you have access to one
Reinstalling the app to check if it help
And if possible, check:
Whether battery-saving or device-care optimizations are enabled
Whether the app is allowed to “Allow background activity” in system settings
These will help me narrow down why playback stops only after your screen turns off.
Thank you again for reporting this — I really want to solve this.
