VoiceOver accessibility
Good afternoon,
Please! Make this app more accessible for those of us who are using VoiceOver! Many of the menus are not accessible when accessed from within the player the labelling is present for things like the audio settings menu says expanded then shows the options of the menu as one solid block of text no separation and no way to make sure you’re hitting the correct items. Generally this app is great but needs a serious accessibility overhaul.

This app could be of so much value for blind users to read books with such high quality voices, but unfortunately it has some serious accessibility barriers. While one can listen to a book playing, the menus from the reading screen are inaccessible which means that blind readers cannot change any voice settings. Also the table of contents is not accessible with VoiceOver, which makes the app really difficult to use for students who need to navigate around books. I would appreciate it greatly if you could attend to these accessibility issues.

Hello,
I have found a number of related bugs. This is a wonderful app but still seriously needs some work on VoiceOver support. Many of the menus are not accessible with VoiceOver often presenting with completely inaccessible buttons even if it tells you what the button is sometimes it doesn’t do what you expect or seems to jam several buttons together in one place therefore ending up reading multiple elements together. Also, the download audio function is not visible using VoiceOver at all I can’t find the button on the screen when I flick through the elements visible. Voice selection and aid control within the audio player are nearly impossible and you can forget granular Control. I have managed to change voices once or twice by using the screen recognition feature built into VoiceOver but without using screen recognition, it is completely impossible. The more menu expands but if there is anything more than the search and bookmark buttons available in the screen once expanded I don’t know and the same is true for the audio settings menu. A piece of advice when testing for voice support regardless of vision test your app using VoiceOver as if you can’t see if Possible. I could, if you can’t use it as a size of person relying on Text To Speech I totally blind person can’t either.

The parts of the app that do work for me are great.
Thank you.

Hi,
Accessibility is something we care deeply about, and you’re absolutely right that there are areas where the experience, especially with VoiceOver, isn’t where it needs to be yet. Improving accessibility is an ongoing effort for us, and we’re actively working through different parts of the app to make sure everything is usable and clearly labeled.
That said, your feedback is especially helpful because it’s specific. If you’re willing, it would help us a lot if you could let us know exactly where you’re running into these issues — for example, which screen or menu inside the player is giving you trouble, or which controls feel grouped together or unclear. That allows us to prioritize and fix the right areas faster rather than guessing.
We really do want this app to be accessible to everyone, and feedback like yours helps us move in the right direction. Please don’t hesitate to share more details if you’re able.
Thanks again for using the app and for helping us improve it.
