I see the button for compressed view gives the user more of the story.

The bottom line that shows the controls currently overlaps text if text could stop 1 line before the last line saving the last line just containing the action buttons.

This makes it easier to see the buttons and the buttons should be [back one page, back one paragraph, switch page display length, playback button, … control features menu, forward one paragraph, and forward one page] in a single line from left to right.

When you reenter the app the last paragraph should highlight the paragraph last displayed so user can find the stop location easier to continue the story.

When you enter the paragraph you want to edit when you tap the spot you want to correct the editing tool should highlight the wording that has the spelling errors so you can fix the error(s). This should update the working file so changes are maintained.
